For the week of July 28th…..
On Tap for the Week
We are settling back in after a wonderful vacation on the coast and a family wedding weekend. We have no real plans all week, other than a library trip and an orthodontist appointment. I have some planning to finish up, I want to do some work on photo albums and straightening the house, and just generally catch up on stuff. So much stuff piles up when you are away for a week!
Summer colds and why we always seem to come down with them at the height of summer (which is going by way too fast, as always).
Outside My Window
We had absolutely gorgeous weather for our trip and came home to rain, but that’s okay. Hoping the sun comes out enough for the kids to use the pool this week.
I haven’t even looked at it since we got back. As soon as it dries out I will need to tackle it. Grace picked kale, cucumbers, zucchini, and raspberries, so I know it’s growing anyway!
I need to get Grace’s homeschool application in this week and finish up a bit of planning. I was hoping to finish up the boys’ math levels before break but, it just didn’t happen. Time enough for that when we start up again. I kind of envy the people that start all new books each fall, we always seem to spend the first few weeks finishing up last year, and this year will be no different.
In Our Kitchen
I have decided that instead of Grace and the boys switching off Monday night cooking that they will each have their own night. Grace will cook one night and the boys another. This way, I only have to cook three nights a week, since my dear husband cooks on the weekends. I have to help the boys on their night, but I don’t have to be right there the whole time, so it’s still a bit of a break.
Watching & Reading
We watched Hidden Turkey over the weekend and other than that have watched nothing at all. We had no television at our vacation house and very spotty cell coverage, which was fine by me. I was able to get quite a bit of reading done. I finished All the Light We Cannot See and The Silver Linings Playbook and enjoyed both.
And just a few photos….
